Dr. Catherine Barnes
Principal Psychologist & Clinical Director
Catherine provides an empathetic safe space where clients can process difficult or painful thoughts, identify negative thought patterns and find new ways of viewing situations without fear of judgment.
Sonica uses an integrative style consisting mainly of schema therapy, a psychodynamic approach and a mixture of trauma informed therapies which enables her to have an authentic therapeutic relationship with each client.
I help people with a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, and relationships. I have worked with people suffering with everything from mild anxiety to severe lifelong disorders, in both private and NHS settings.
Dr Meela Kamolzoda
As a nutritional therapist, Meela believes that nutritional and biochemical imbalances in the body can lead to ill health. She takes a holistic approach, devising personalised nutrition and lifestyle plans to help her clients.
Admin and Booking Coordinator
Chloe is the Admin and Booking Coordinator for Alinea Psychologies. She’s a whiz with organisation and enjoys nothing more than a good spreadsheet (or ten). When she’s not working, you’ll find her exploring new places.
Finding a Therapist
What To Look For When You Need To Find A Therapist
When you’re searching to find a therapist for anxiety, it can be hard to know where to start. Whether you’re looking online to find a therapist for anxiety or you’re taking recommendations from friends, the possibility of finding the right person to help you with your anxiety can feel overwhelming. Take a look at these tips for finding the right therapist to help you with your mental health needs.
Consider your potential therapist’s specialties. While therapists are qualified to work with you on a number of mental health topics, many of them have small areas of specialization. You may want to look for a therapist who specializes in anxiety disorders.
Think about what you need in order to feel comfortable with your therapist. Choosing someone who you can relate to can be helpful in allowing you to open up and make progress.
After your first appointment, consider how you feel with your therapist. Sometimes, it can take a few tries to find a therapist who is a good fit for your needs. It’s a bit like dating – it’s normal to spend some time to find someone who feels right.
