I help people with a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, and relationships. I have worked with people suffering with everything from mild anxiety to severe lifelong disorders, in both private and NHS settings.
← Back to the teamI specialise in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, helping you to explore and make links between past and present, discover what might be going wrong, and gain greater clarity through a deeper understanding of yourself. I provide a non-judgemental, confidential space in which to work.
Psychodynamic therapy is an exploration of the unconscious mind, and is more like a journey than a prescriptive tool. The sessions are semi-structured and led by you. The aim is to develop deeper insight and self-understanding, and by doing this transform whatever you are struggling with into meaningful change.
This form of therapy is likely to provide benefit to those who are ready to make a commitment to themselves. Many people who have tried CBT and have found it hasn't worked for them, or wish to deepen their understanding after CBT, often do much better in psychodynamic therapy.
First sessions can feel anxiety provoking. Rest assured that our first session will be relaxed and exploratory, where we get to understand the issues that have brought you, and you can get a feeling for how the therapy will work and ask any questions you might have.
No matter what you are struggling with, you are welcome.
